About our Practice
Maria Sleight’s interest in working within the mental health sector began 15 years ago. She primarily trained in psychology, psychotherapy, counselling and social sciences, which ultimately led her to the Family Law sector. Maria has worked in various roles across the field, which includes, clinical practice, operational management, people management and more. Therefore, she is passionate in helping people find their own own solutions, while creating a safe space for people to grow.
A modern approach
Maria works within a person-centred framework, as she believes people are the experts in their own lives. She sees her role as more than a therapist; a personal cheerleader, a hope holder, an emotional de-tangler, a life navigator, your personal story editor and a self-discovery coach. A few words from Maria….
“My therapy toolbox has been developed from a wide range of approaches, including Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed Practice and Solution-Focused Therapy. My aim is to support you in finding positive and effective solutions to making what can seem like an overwhelming situation, manageable with minimal stress.”
